Lech Wosinski

Lech Wosinski received the M.Sc. degree in electronics from the Warsaw Institute of Technology, Poland, in 1974, the Techn. Lic. degree in optics from the Physics Department of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, in 1991 and the PhD degree in photonics from the Dept. of Microelectronics and Information Technology, KTH in 2003. Until 1984 he was a researcher at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw. During 1986 -1996 he worked as a researcher and project manager at the Institute of Optical Research in Stockholm, Sweden. He initiated and led the first in Sweden projects on UV-induced fiber Bragg gratings and their applications. He was also responsible for a number of projects in the areas of interferometry, fiber sensors, and optical image and signal processing. Since 1996 he holds a position of a senior researcher at the Department of Electronics, Laboratory of Photonics and Microwave Engineering (present: Dept. of Microelectronics and Applied Physics, Laboratory of Optics, Photonics and Quantum Electronics) at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He started, and is responsible for the projects dealing with silica/silicon technology and devices for optical communication systems including silicon-based nanophotonic integration and photonic crystal structures. He is an author and co-author of over 75 scientific papers and conference contributions. Lech Wosinski is a member of International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), European Optical Society (EOS), and Swedish Optical Society (SOS).
